Candle Care
Sculptured candles are beautiful works of art that add elegance and charm to any space. However, they require special care to maintain their intricate designs. Here are some essential tips for taking care of your sculptured candles. Should you choose to light them, burn time may vary due to the irregular shapes and sizes.
Proper Storage:
Store sculptured candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Heat and sunlight can cause the wax to soften, warp, or fade, damaging the candle’s intricate details. Ideally, wrap them in tissue paper or keep them in a box to protect them from dust and accidental damage.
Trimming the Wick:
Always trim the wick to about 0,5 cm before lighting the candle. A long wick can cause uneven burning, excessive smoke, and dripping. Trimming the wick helps ensure a steady flame and prolongs the life of the candle. Use a wick trimmer or a pair of scissors to make a clean cut.
Burning Practices:
When burning a sculptured candle, place it on a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface to catch any wax drips. Allow the candle to burn for a couple of hours at a time to create an even melt pool, which helps prevent tunneling and maintains the candle’s shape. Avoid placing the candle in drafty areas, as drafts can cause uneven burning and dripping.
